Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital honored for providing exceptional cancer care and treatment

Santa Rosa, Calif. – July 20, 2016 Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital has earned the Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Cancer Care, two years in a row. Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in Sonoma County to receive this distinguished award which acknowledges the hospital’s commitment and passion for creating an extraordinary healthcare experience for women and all patients.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by WomensCertified with the Women's Choice Award as one of America's Best Hospitals for Cancer Care, for the second year in a row,” said Ian Anderson, MD and Medical Director of Medical Oncology. “We would be unable to obtain this award if it were not for the dedication of our skilled oncology staff, including the physicians, nurses, medical assistants and office staff. Our entire team works cohesively to ensure the best care is being delivered to each and every one of our patients.”

By carrying the evidence-based designation of the Women’s Choice Award, Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital has signified its commitment to a global mission to elevate the patient experience for women and all patients as one of the 366 America’s Best Hospitals for Cancer Care.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized with the Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Cancer Care for the second time,” said Todd Salnas, CEO of St. Joseph Health, Sonoma County. “We are proud to offer expert cancer care at a convenient location, close to home.”

Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital earned the award by meeting the highest cancer care accreditation standards of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, as well as for their excellence in clinical performance with regard to patient safety measures, and for their high recommendation rate, a measure that is very important to women in choosing a hospital.

“Women have many choices when it comes to cancer care, but now they can make informed choices based on rigorous evidence based criteria. As a cancer survivor who faced a challenging journey to recovery, I wish I had the Women’s Choice Award as a resource to spare me unnecessary fret and error,” said Delia Passi, Founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award. “When faced with cancer you owe it to yourself and your family to get the best treatment,” added Passi.

The Women’s Choice Award helps women and their families by providing recommendations they can trust and use when making healthcare choices. As the collective voice of female consumers, the Women’s Choice Award provides women with recommendations from other women that they can rely upon.
