NUHW Picket at Santa Rosa Memorial and Strike at Petaluma Valley Hospitals

On Wednesday, November 20, the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) chose to conduct a one-day strike at Petaluma Valley Hospital and an informational picket at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Strike at Petaluma Valley Hospital

The hospital's doors remained open throughout the strike, ensuring the community could continue to count on the safe, high-quality care it has come to expect from Petaluma Valley Hospital. The hospital has contracted with an agency to provide highly qualified and experienced replacement caregivers to ensure uninterrupted patient care, which is standard industry practice during a strike.

Per the contractual requirements of the replacement agency and to protect patient care and ensure an orderly transition back to work, our NUHW-represented caregivers who have chosen to strike will be welcomed back on Monday, November 25 at 6 a.m.

Picket at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital

The National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) hosted an informational picket at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 20 starting at 6 a.m.

We respect the rights of all bargaining unit members who choose to participate in lawful protected activities. Informational pickets are not strikes, but a way for unions to inform and develop public support for their position.
