Ways to Give

Giving matters. Your gift to Memorial Hospital provides the financial support required to make essential improvements, introduce innovation, offer the latest technology and create the healing environments that are so desperately needed.

There are many ways to give, including outright gifts of cash, property or securities, corporate grants, bequests, gifts from a retirement account, life income gifts, or employer matching contributions. Find the type of gift that works best for you which matches your personal budget or long-term financial plan.

Give Now

You can make a gift by mailing a check payable to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital to the Foundation office at the address below.

You can donate safely online by clicking here. You can make a one-time gift, or monthly, recurring gifts.

If you have any questions about the following, please call the Foundation office:

  • If you would like to make a gift via credit card, but prefer not to do so online
  • Donating securities, property or making a gift of your IRA or other qualified plan
  • Making a multi-year pledge

Tribute Gifts

Any gift that you make can be made in honor of or memory of any person that you specify.

The IRA Charitable Rollover

The IRA Charitable Rollover is now a permanent provision of the federal tax code. This is good news as it allows donors who are age 70 ½ or older to make a tax-free contribution to Memorial Hospital or other charities. You can donate up to $100,000 in each year from your IRA. The contribution counts towards your Required Minimum Distribution. It doesn't generate either taxable income or a charitable tax deduction for you. A gift from your IRA provides an excellent opportunity to make a gift during your lifetime from an asset that is often subject to multiple layers of taxation if left in your estate.

Transfers must be made directly from a traditional IRA account by your IRA plan administrator. Gifts from 401 (k), 403 (b), SEP or other plans do not qualify for this provision. Contact your plan administrator to initiate

Planned Gifts

When you include a gift to Memorial in your estate plans, you help advance our mission for many years to come.

A charitable bequest through your will or trust is both easy and versatile and provides tax relief if your estate is subject to estate tax.

You can also obtain income enhancement opportunities during your lifetime as well as substantial tax benefits by making a gift of stock, property or other appreciated assets using a variety of estate planning tools. For example, charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts can provide lifetime income for you or others that you designate, and can help you avoid capital gains and inheritance taxes. The gift of your home via a Life Estate Reserved, allows you to live in the home for life, but enjoy a significant tax deduction during your lifetime.

Please let us know if you have already included Memorial in your estate plans. If you have, we would like to express our appreciation and welcome you to the Al and Helen Maggini Legacy Society.

To learn more, visit our Planned Giving page. The Foundation's staff can provide confidential, no-obligation consultations about how these and other forms of philanthropy can benefit you and your loved ones as well as support St. Joseph Health.
