Your Personal Guide: The Patient Navigator
Tia DeSoto, the Patient Navigator for the Spine Program at Santa Rosa Memorial
Hospital, serves as a personal guide to patients who are undergoing spine
care and surgery. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
from Sonoma State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Cultural Anthropology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Tia is
a native Santa Rosan and is honored to be able to serve her community
as the Spine Patent Navigator for the Center for Bone and Joint Health.
The Spine Patient Navigator can provide you with a wealth of helpful information
designed to make the entire surgical process as simple and comfortable
as possible. Whether you have questions about pain management, medication,
physical therapy, or community resources, the navigator is here to help
you prepare for surgery, recovery, and beyond.
Spine Pre-Operative Class:
The Spine Pre-Operative Class is a free, two-hour session that is designed
to educate patients (and guests) about the spine surgery process. Led
by our Patient Navigator, Tia DeSoto, the class provides detailed information
about multiple aspects of spine surgery so you can feel comfortable and
informed before, during, and after your procedure.
